All About A Girl!

Over the past couple of months, I have been lucky to work with a local business, All About A Girl mobile spa parties. Have you heard of them??? Well, if you haven't, let me tell you a little bit about them...
The business was started by three friends in the Northern Virginia area, and they bring the spa to you! I am always looking for fun themes and activities for parties, especially children's parties. AND, I think this is an amazing idea!! The ladies at All About A Girl come into your home and transform it into a spa that will pamper your little princess and her friends. Some of their services include manicures, pedicures and facials. Now, as I am a mom to two little boys, I don't think I will be calling them to host a party in my home, but I would recommend them to any of you with little girls!

Please visit them at www.allaboutagirlspa.com

A Baby Shower!

A few weeks ago, I was asked to design an invitation for a baby shower. The expecting mother and her husband were preparing to welcome their third little boy into their family, so I couldn't resist in making the invitation "All Boy"! Polka dots and jungle animals added classic yet whimsical details, which were easily incorporated to other party decorations as well.
Here are two pictures of the invitation (front & back)...

A small example of what the table set up looked like...I absolutely LOVE using polka dot balloons!

I saw the idea for these beautiful ribbon topiaries on another party blog site (link to come) and knew I just had to make them. They turned out beautifully and received so many comments.

Silverware is a "must have" on any table when a meal is being served, so I like to make it look pleasing to the eye. I wrapped the silverware used for this luncheon and made small decorative tags that coordinated with the invitations to tie the bundles. These tags could easily be adapted to use as cupcake toppers. We also needed forks to use with the cake that was served. Unfortunately, I don't have a picture of the cake, but it was frosted in simple, white butter cream and decorated with red, green and blue fondant polka dots - PERFECT! (It came from one of my favorite bakeries, so I KNOW it was delicious!) The dessert table also hosted beautiful elephant shaped cookies decorated in blue icing that came from a local source. Since the polka dots and elephants were already represented, I chose to fold napkins into the shape of a diaper, secure with a pin and tuck the dessert fork inside!

Happy Holidays!

I just thought that I might share a picture of the Christmas card I designed for my family this year. From the very beginning, I had my heart set on a circular card...don't ask me how I got that stuck in my head! The design was no problem, but finding a printer to handle the job proved to be a little harder than expected. Thankfully, I have a good friend that specializes in photocards, and she put me in touch with a great resource . . . (Thanks, Kerri!) And, VOILA!
